"charles ramsey" interview "amanda berry". Cleveland resident Charles Ramsey is a hero today after discovering the home where three missing women had been held for nearly a decade. A reporter for Cleveland's ABC affiliate caught up with Ramsey, who told the story of what happened after he heard screaming coming from his neighbor's house.

Ramsey said he was walking by when he saw a girl "going nuts, trying to get out of this house." Once he was able to get the door open, the woman, who he later found out was Amanda Berry, asked him to call 911. Berry had been missing since 2003 when she was 17-years-old. Once the police arrived, they went into the house and came out with two more women who had been missing, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight.

Asked what his reaction was when he first saw the girls' faces, Ramsey said, "I knew something was wrong when a little, pretty white girl ran into a black man's arms." He added, "Something is wrong here. Dead giveaway."
